HOAC-OCA: 1982 - 2017
Starting in February 1982 the Heart Of America Chapter geographically covered western Missouri and Eastern Kansas, as well as parts of Nebraska and Iowa. Our core group was centered in the Kansas City area. However, our club had members from outside this area and our events were open to any member in good standing with the Oldsmobile Club Of America.
As the years went by our ranks grew and fell as members came and went, but there was always a core group of members that always stepped up to keep the club operating. We were always anchored by our Chapter Representative, Mr. Gary Hartman. However, Mr. Gary's health was fading, and in 2016 we lost our anchor.
While some wanted to continue, there weren't enough members that wanted to share the duties of operating the club, and on 29 January 2017 it was decided to officially close. It was a delightful ride, and we have made friends we will cherish for the rest of our lives.
